Duncan from Dutch Uncles

Favorite Manchester band of all time?

Egyptian Hip Hop

Favorite night out in Manchester?

Deaf Institute is primo for gigs. Any night out that ends up in Black Dog Ballroom is a good indication of how shit faced you got.

Best Record shop in Manchester?

There's two. Piccadilly Records for new releases, and Vinyl Exchange for the better-than-charity-shop quality bargains, the last purchase was from the latter; I bought a David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto 12" of Bamboo Houses/ Bamboo Music for a fiver and then blagged a first edition of Roxy Music's For Your Pleasure as it had a warp in it, but it worked when i got home. Sick.

Favorite morning after fry up?

The remains of kebab from the night before (they make 'em big up north), usually found in the bed sheets or occasionally the bin. Failing that, any combo of fry up is alright, as long as the tomatoes are tinned, and it has to have black pudding.

Favorite gig of 2011?

We've had a handful of favourite UK shows this year and it would be unfair to single one out. So I'd say our favourite would have to be The Tunnel in Milan supporting Wild Beasts, the reason being that spending your first time in Italy having a great first gig means you can go on holiday there without feeling bitter.

What's your ideal New Years Eve?

A proper Noel Coward-esque dinner table scene, where everyone has to adopt an unfashionable name, and everyone has to make a speech about everyone else in the room, and everyone has to have a larf, and no one is allowed to kiss publicly unless its midnight. Nothing twee about that.

Describe Dutch Uncles in 6 words?

pop pronk and not math rock

Favorite country you have visited this year...It's a tie between Canada and Switzerland. and Scotland.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Probably moderation. I think most other virtues are important, and

whole self into something.

New single ‘Me and the Moon’ out December 13th

The Go Team!

In 2011 The Go! Team will return with their third album Rolling Blackouts, the newest instalment in their esteemed catalogue of adventure in audio. The Go! Team bust onto the scene in 2004 with their universally praised debut, Thunder, Lightning, Strike, a homebrewed collage of meticulously chosen samples and trashy live instruments assembled brilliantly by Go! Team founder Ian Parton. It somehow found its way from the bedroom to international acclaim, casually picking up a Mercury nomination along the way!

And now, following a brief rest comes album three, 'Rolling Blackout' which features guest vocals from members of Deerhoof, Best Coast, Dominique Young Unique and the hotly tipped Tampa based rapper and Bordeaux’s bedroom balladeer, Lispector. Not forgetting, of course, Ninja, The Go! Team’s unstoppable MC who is back in full force. I met up with Ninja to talk about dancing and what 2011 holds for them!

Bobby Brown, My Prerogative. (Would also be my karaoke song of choice)

Recurring dream...

Sailing next door over to Necker Island to tell Mr Branson I've accidentally received his post again

Irrational fear of....

Mould. Why are people eating it???

Favorite place visited this year...

Ukraine, everything is scarier written in Russian

Signature dance...

Ballroom classic, 'the running man'

Brains or beauty?

I once dated a beautiful idiot. I'll have some brains please, to go.

Most proud of....

Never having voted for a reality TV show

Fancy - dress theme...

Royals and Rogues, and I'd be Cleopatra

People are surprised that The Go Team....

Don't live together in a pink 6 bedroom house teetering on Brighton Pier

In 2011 we will be.....

Rockin' in a town near you, with new hair cuts!

Lauren Pritchard....

Lauren Pritchard is a small town girl from Tennessee, with a burning need to write and sing songs! Moving to LA in her teens she lived with her friend Riley Keough and her mom Lisa Marie Presley before signing a deal in the UK with Spilt Milk/ Island Records. Her album 'Wasted in Jackson' features Marcus Mumford & Ed Harcourt and is out now!

Hi Lauren, how's it going?
Good!!
Tell us about the best place you've been this year?
Amsterdam. We opened for Jamie Cullum there but I also got to visit a good friend from Tennessee who I grew up with. She was studying there. To not see her for 2 years and then meet her in another country was a total trip!
What's the strangest thing in your closet?
A short, blonde wig.
Whom do you most want to have lunch with?
Barack & Michelle Obama.
Do you have a guilty pleasure song right now?
Cooler Than Me - Mike Posner.
What's the quality you admire most in a friend?
Being trustworthy. Then making me laugh!
Who are you most itching to work with?
Mr. F**k You himself, Cee-lo.
What's the first CD you ever bought?
TLC's CrazySexyCool
What's the last gig you went to?
The Black Keys at Brixton Academy. Two words: effing amazing.
Which Mr Man are you?
Little Miss Curious. I'm into everything and want to know everything about everything! I'm always learning, asking questions and finding things out.
Drives my band mates crazy haha!
What would we never find you doing?
Being lazy. I know this sounds ridiculous but I'm too ADHD to sit around, I've gotta be doing something.
What are you looking forward to most in 2011?
Touring & gigging!!
